Paris Opera Ballet - La Bayadere![]() The magnificent Paris Opera Ballet, the world's largest, oldest and most influential ballet company, makes its Brisbane debut with an exclusive season of La Bayadère, one of its grandest and most spectacular stagings. La Bayadère was the last work choreographed for the Paris Opera Ballet by Rudolf Nureyev who had been the company's Artistic Director from 1983 to 1989. During this period, he created many new works, revived classics and commissioned ground-breaking ballets by other artists. His glorious interpretation of La Bayadère was premiered in October 1992, just four months before his death and remains a lasting testament to his genius. With The Queensland Orchestra and over one hundred dancers on stage, this will be far and away, the most spectacular ballet presentation Australia has ever seen. Choreography: Rudolf Nureyev after Marius Petipa
